Offering in-game content that’s sponsored by brands can fall flat if the content itself isn’t compelling and doesn’t suit the game’s core aesthetics. It’s a classic marketing strategy that got fans excited back in the day. While the collaboration seems slightly lackluster, it’s still nice to see collaborations like this happen as it harkens back to the days of Halo 3 partnering with Mountain Dew Game Fuel. Receipts being necessary in order to receive in-game codes also seems extreme, but understandable as printing codes on Monster Energy cans could lead to people collecting codes without proof of purchase.
